This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use and look after your personal information when you visit this website, contact me, book a class or lesson, purchase a Class Pass, attend an online class or sign up to receive emails from me. Who I am

I am Saara Kavanagh, a self-employed Feldenkrais Practitioner based in Manchester, UK.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller responsible for the personal information I collect and use.

Information I collect

Depending on how you interact with me, I may collect information including:

  • your name and email address;

  • contact details you provide when making an enquiry;

  • information you provide when booking a class or lesson;

  • information you choose to provide before attending a class or lesson;

  • information relating to Class Pass purchases and bookings;

  • your newsletter subscription preferences;

  • correspondence between us; and

  • basic technical information generated when you use this website.

I only collect information that is relevant to providing my services, communicating with you and operating my website and practice.

How I use your information

I may use your personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and communicate with you;

  • manage bookings, classes, lessons and Class Passes;

  • provide information relating to a booking or service you have requested;

  • administer online classes;

  • process payments;

  • maintain appropriate records relating to my services;

  • send you information about upcoming workshops, classes and other Feldenkrais offerings where you have chosen to receive these emails; and

  • operate, maintain and understand the use of this website.

Under UK data protection law, I need a lawful basis for using your personal information. Depending on the circumstances, I may process your information because it is necessary to provide a service you have requested or to take steps at your request before providing that service, because I have a legitimate interest in operating and administering my practice, because I need to comply with a legal obligation, or because you have given your consent.

Where I rely on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Bookings and Class Passes

Bookings and Class Pass purchases are managed using Acuity Scheduling, a Squarespace service.

When you make a booking or purchase a Class Pass, the information you provide is used to administer your booking, communicate with you about your attendance and provide the relevant service.

Before attending a lesson, you may also choose to provide information that you would like me to know. Please only provide information that you feel is relevant to your participation.

Payments

Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Payment information is handled by Stripe in accordance with its own privacy and security practices. I do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Online classes

Online classes will be provided using Zoom.

If you attend an online class, information required to provide access to the session may be processed by Zoom in accordance with its own privacy practices.

Email newsletters and marketing

If you choose to sign up to hear about upcoming workshops, classes and other Feldenkrais offerings, your name and/or email address will be stored and used for this purpose through Squarespace.

I will only send you these marketing emails where I have an appropriate lawful basis to do so.

You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in my marketing emails. If you withdraw your consent, I will stop using your information for the marketing covered by that consent.

Signing up for marketing emails is optional and is not a condition of booking or attending a class or lesson.

Contacting me

If you contact me through the website contact form or by email, I will use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, provide information or services you have requested.

I will not add you to my marketing mailing list simply because you have contacted me or booked a class.

Website and cookies

This website is hosted by Squarespace. When you visit the website, Squarespace may process certain technical information required to provide, secure and operate the website.

The website may also use cookies and similar technologies. Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, you will be given the opportunity to manage your preferences through the website's cookie controls.

Who I share information with

I do not sell your personal information.

Where necessary to operate my practice and provide my services, information may be processed by trusted service providers, including:

  • Squarespace and Acuity Scheduling for the website, mailing list and booking system;

  • Stripe for payment processing;

  • Zoom for online classes; and

  • email and other technology providers used to communicate with you.

These providers process information in accordance with their own privacy practices and applicable data protection requirements.

Some of these service providers may process information outside the UK. Where personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards are used where required by data protection law.

How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing my services, maintaining appropriate business and financial records, meeting legal or regulatory requirements and resolving queries or disputes.

Different types of information may therefore be kept for different periods.

Information used for email marketing will be retained while you remain subscribed, subject to appropriate review. If you unsubscribe, I will stop sending you marketing emails. Limited information may be retained where necessary to record and respect your preference not to receive further marketing.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights in relation to your personal information. These may include the right to:
